Camboard Technology

Camboard WordWriter is a multi-sensory software product to assist with reading and writing. WordWriters simple interface enables it to be used with individuals of any age. Its ease of use allows individuals of any skill level to write. WordWriter works in conjunction with Microsoft Word.

Assistive Features
WordWriter includes word prediction, checks spelling and homophones. Easy to use controls enable fonts, colours, text size and line spacing in Word to be easily changed. Text to speech conversion allows most text on your computer to be read out aloud. Text can be spoken back as it is typed in. Visual tools enable text being read back to be colour coded.

Personalise
WordWriter enables icons back and text colours to be changed to higher contrast ones. You can save these changes so students use the same colour scheme every time they use WordWriter. Personalise WordWriter to work the way you want to write. WordWriters preferences enable you to adjust and customise the way you write. Interaction and the visual look and feel can be customised to the individuals needs. Icons and window colour schemes can be changed to your requirements.

Speech
WordWriter includes text to speech conversion. This lets you hear what you have written in a synthesised voice. Text from documents can be read back using the voice included with windows. WordWriter also works with other synthesiser voices that comply with the Microsoft SAPI5 standard. As you type options are available so you can hear each letter, word or sentence. This is useful to confirm what you have typed.

Read Web Pages, EMails , PDF documents
WordWriter can read out aloud pages from your web browser e-mails and pdf documents. In fact WordWriter can read out any text that you can select on your computer.

Spacing
1.Space between letters. Increase the gap between characters easily with just one click of the mouse.
2.Space between lines. Increase the space between lines in your Word document with one mouse click.
3.Paragraph spacing. Change the paragraph spacing with one mouse click.

Check
The one click check icon enables spelling of a word to be checked quickly and easily. Just one click on the Check icon performs three checks. If the word is found to be misspelt a number of close suggestions are shown in the Check window along with a list of Synonyms for the suggested word. A click on the search button starts a Google search of the word for more information on the particular word.If the word is not misspelt a homophone check is made on the word. WordWriter includes a large dictionary of homophones. If the selected word is neither misspelt or a homophone the words meaning is shown.

Predictor
As you type WordWriter constantly monitors what you write, each letter is analysed. A word list appears of the frequently used words beginning with the first letter typed and then the second and so on. So if you type the letter t the top word to appear is the to select this just click on F1 in the Predict window or press F1 on your keyboard.. If we type in t again followed by a the word list changes the top word becomes take if we type in the letter l the top word becomes talk. Up to nine words are available in the Predict panel.

Dictionary
Word predication uses a dictionary of the most frequently used words. When a word is completed WordWriter analyses it and looks in its built in dictionary to see if the word is already present. In the event the word is not, it is automatically added for future use. As new words are added to WordWriters dictionary they appear higher in the predict panel. As words come up in the predict panel you can hear the word, before adding it to your document. To hear any word, just click on it with the right hand button on your mouse.

Next Word Lookup
When you press the space bar WordWriter works out which word comes next, this is based on what the student types after the word. It places at the top of the Predict panel the word that is most often used after the previous word. As WordWriter is used it builds up a database of which word follows the previous word, as new words are used in a document WordWriter adds these to the main dictionary and the next word database. The most frequently used words appear at the top of the predict panel, the program constantly alters the position of the words to reflect how often they get used. A new word will climb up the Predict panel to the top if it's used the most.

WordWriter changes to reflect the word capability of the student. As the students word usage changes WordWriter changes automatically to reflect these changes in both its main dictionary and next word database. The next word maybe reset at any time to reflect a student's confidence in using different words.

Homophones
WordWriters built in homophone checker analyses each word as you type for homophones or similar sounding words. You can switch this off or check the whole document in one mouse click. Selecting a homophone opens the homophone panel. The word is shown along with similar sounding words. These words can be spoken by clicking on them with the mouse. This is useful to get across to students that words that sound the same may be spelt differently. The homophone dictionary can be personalised for each student. Homophones maybe excluded or other homophones added to the built in homophone dictionary.

Convert documents to speech
A powerful feature of WordWriter is text to speech conversion. A word document can be converted into a sound file for later playback. The document is converted into a Wave file .wav. These files are playable on most media players.

Learn mode
WordWriter-Standard edition includes a powerful automation feature that learns the way you write. The editor takes a document from Word and analyses each of the documents words. A number of processes take place that enable WordWriter to learn your style of writing.

Next Word
WordWriter learns which word comes after the last word. For instance if after the word "the" you have written "best" next time you type in the word "the" WordWriters predictor will bring up the word "best". The software learns all of the next words and groups each word into a table where the most used word appears at the top of the predictor. Other words appear below in order of how many times they appear in the document.

New Words
Learns from a document new words that are not in WordWriters dictionary, this feature is useful when writing using specialist words on a particular subject. You can build up dictionaries with the most frequently used words and then add to them new words on a particular subject. The dictionary maybe saved and loaded back into WordWriter for future use.

Word
Learn Dictionary words and New Word Frequency. WordWriter Learns from a document new words that are not in WordWriters dictionary. The frequency of each new and existing dictionary word is computed by WordWriter, so the more times the word appears the higher up in the predictor the word will be.

Dictionary
Learns from a document, the frequency of words already in WordWriters dictionary. The frequency of existing dictionary words is computed by WordWriter, so the more times the word appears the higher up in the predictor the word will be.

Licences
WordWriter is available in Licence types to suite your needs.
A perpetual licence gives you the freedom to use the software beyond a subscription period. But does not include major updates to WordWriter.
A subscription to WordWriter includes all updates. The subscription version is downloaded from our server and requires you to Login each time you use the software.
