TLD Map is an internet utility that allows pupils to see what happens when they access a web site on the internet. This program lets students see in a visual form what really happens when they surf the net.
A website domain visited with Internet Explorer can be read into TLD Map and the domains country code can be plotted onto the map.
The sites country is extracted to a world map, with the domain names country such as .uk (United Kingdom) .ca (canada) .de (Germany) .za (South Africa).

The TraceRoute option finds all the routers and server that are used in a connection from the students computer to the target websites server. An animated simulation is built up of data flowing from the target website, actual router and server names are used.
TLD Map will show pupils what really happens when they surf the net and provide a greater understanding of how the internet works.
To use TLD Map you will need an internet connection and Internet Explorer.
TLD Map is included with Inside the Internet or available separately.
